These are the terms for shopping at Spooky Thistle. They're the boring necessary part, but I've tried to write them like a person instead of a law firm. By using this site or placing an order, you're agreeing to them.

Who can buy from me

You need to be at least 18 years old to place an order or create an account. If you're under 18, you're welcome to browse, but ask an adult to handle the checkout.

Products and content

I sell gothic, occult, metaphysical, and home-goods items. Some products — particularly certain tarot and oracle decks — feature artistic nudity as part of their illustration, in keeping with the long tradition of esoteric art. Where that's the case, it's noted on the product page.

Metaphysical and ritual items — tarot decks, smudge bundles, candles, and similar — are sold for personal, spiritual, and decorative use. They are not medical devices, and nothing in my product descriptions is medical, legal, psychological, or financial advice. Please use your own judgment.

Product descriptions, photos, and availability

I write every description and photograph products myself, and I try hard to be accurate. Even so, colors can look different on different screens, and handmade items vary slightly from piece to piece — that's part of what makes them handmade, not a defect.

I may change products, descriptions, and prices at any time, and I can limit quantities or refuse an order if I need to. If I have to cancel an order for any reason, you'll get a full refund.

Fire and safety

Candle holders, incense burners, and smudge bundles involve open flame and hot surfaces. Never leave burning items unattended, keep them away from anything flammable, keep them out of reach of children and pets, and use them on a heat-safe surface. You're responsible for using these products safely.

Orders and payment

Placing an order is an offer to buy; the order is accepted once I send your confirmation. Prices are in US dollars and don't include applicable sales tax, which is calculated at checkout.

Payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number. If a payment is declined or reversed, I may cancel the order.

If a product is listed at an obviously wrong price because of a typo or a technical glitch, I reserve the right to cancel and refund rather than honor it. I'll tell you what happened if that ever comes up.

Shipping and returns

Everything about shipping times, carriers, returns, and refunds lives on the Shipping & Returns page, and those terms are part of these terms.

Accounts

If you create an account, keep your password to yourself and let me know if you think someone else has gotten into it. You're responsible for what happens under your account. I can suspend or close an account that's being used for fraud or abuse.

Using the site

Please don't do any of the following: scrape or copy the site's content for your own store, use the site to break the law, attempt to break into or disrupt the site, upload anything malicious, or submit reviews or messages that are harassing, hateful, or deliberately false.

Content on the site

The product photography, product descriptions, and written content on this site are mine, and I'd rather you didn't lift them. Product names, artwork, and trademarks belong to the makers and artists who created them, and appear here because I sell their work.

If you post a review or send me a photo of your order, you're giving me permission to show it on the site or social media with credit. Tell me if you'd rather I didn't and I won't.

Disclaimers and limits

The site and everything on it are provided as-is. I do my best, but I can't promise the site will never go down or never contain an error.

To the fullest extent the law allows, my liability for any order is limited to what you paid for it. I'm not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits any rights you have that can't legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top tells you when they last changed, and the version in effect when you place an order is the one that applies to that order.
